The deception of the devil – to deceive people that they – these demons – are not around – but they have been around, victimizing and deceiving mankind since the beginning of time.
Here are verses in the bible that make reference to them, specifically, and how we all have to know NOT to do these things.
7 And they shall no more offer their sacrifices unto devils, after whom they have gone a whoring. This shall be a statute for ever unto them throughout their generations.” – (Leviticus 17:7) KJV

God would not have included these verses in the bible if it was not true. And we all need to be aware that they exist – like germs – that we have to be careful of that we do not get infected with.
31 “Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God.” – Leviticus 19:31 KJV

Did you notice – “familiar spirits”? They are all demonic. So are those that “profess to see the future”, wizards, basically, witches.
Demon-possessed people who mislead others to believe in “them” rather than in the One True God. They take advantage of the weaknesses, or desperation of people and become stumbling blocks.
27 A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them. – – (Leviticus 20:27) KJV

And yet, these days people who have not learned about God’s teachings in the Bible, even go so far as seek or PAY “mediums” or “fortune tellers” or “tarot card readers”, to tell them what they wish to hear – all abominable in God’s eyes, because these people instead puts their trust in these demonically possessed witches, making demi-gods out of them, instead of putting their trust in the One True God who only has the power to deliver them from evil.
The Bible is humankind’s manual. It’s been here all along.
We just need to read it, to learn it.
You will see the fake, if you KNOW the genuine.
It is easy to see the false, if you know what is TRUE.
Jesus is The Way, The Truth and The Life.
Believe in Him, and follow Him.
The bible is for Christ Followers – it is our roadmap that we can use in this life on earth.
This is how we can also be warned of those that we will be fighting against, because we choose to follow Christ.
That’s why the Apostle Paul taught for Christ Followers to “put on” the Full Armor of God.
It can be “put on” or “put off” – meaning it is a conscious effort of protecting one’s self from the fiery darts of the evil one.
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.
11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
14 Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints,
19 and pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel,
