When these days people say they have a “dysfunctional” family, we all need to learn about the life of king David.\u00a0 And how much of his struggles mirrors humanity to this day.<\/p>\n

Here’s the story of Absalom conspiring against his father, the king, David.<\/p>\n

David Flees Jerusalem \u2013 (2 Samuel 15:13-37) KJV<\/a><\/p>\n

And yes, there’s more, to the “extreme dysfunctional” family, we all need to learn about the life of king David.\u00a0 (and how he clung to God through all of it<\/em>).\u00a0 Life lessons applicable to modern day, like today …<\/p>\n

– when David was anointed as king<\/a>, and was misjudged by his own brothers<\/p>\n

– when He was put in the service of king Saul<\/a><\/p>\n

– when David fought Goliath<\/a> (and won)<\/p>\n

– when Saul kept on going after him to kill him<\/a><\/p>\n

– when he fell into temptation with Bathsheba<\/a>.<\/p>\n

– when he lost his child<\/a> with Bathsheba<\/p>\n

– when his wives and children were kidnapped<\/a>.<\/p>\n

– when he lost his best friend Jonathan<\/a>.<\/p>\n

– when he lost his son Amnon, when his other son Absalom killed him<\/a><\/p>\n

– when he learned his daughter Tamar was raped by his other son Ammon<\/a><\/p>\n

– when he flees from his son Absalom<\/a><\/p>\n

And what happens to a son who rebels and conspires against his father?<\/p>\n

David still loved his son Absalom anyway, but Absalom died a death by accident – and then killed<\/a>.<\/p>\n

That’s why God commanded –\u00a0 “Honor thy parents.”\u00a0 Blessings for those who obey, and consequences for those who don’t.<\/p>\n

David’s life is an example of HOW through all of life’s troubles, we can DEPEND on God, still, through and in the midst of it.<\/p>\n

Most people fail when they turn away from their faith in God, most often blaming God for their own personal catastrophes.<\/p>\n

The story of David is an example, of how faithful God is, when we are faithful.<\/p>\n

Stay strong and be of a good courage.<\/p>\n

Be strong and courageous.<\/p>\n

“All these too, shall pass.”<\/p>\n

But God will remain, GOD.\u00a0 He’s got your back, just as He got David’s back.<\/p>\n

Just stay true to Him, stay true to serving God, and God alone. He will see you THROUGH your storm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
